Brodi White & V.I. Musik Release “Everything Thorough” 4/4/22

What do you get when you take two of the most talented relatively unknown artists from Northern California, add some fire production, mix it with a feature from Mendo Dope and top it off with an intro by The Game? Brodi White and V.I. Musik did just that. The result is “Everything Thorough” a 13 track album filled with epic rhyme schemes and powerful imagery that paints pictures even DaVinci would have been envious of.

"I remember that s*** like its last night, we was on the grind like halfpipes, 22 a pound no bags light, ride around and get it on them savage nights"
- Brodi White on Savage Nights

Everything Thorough, The Compilation

The project starts out with the unmistakable voice of west coast legend The Game, introducing upcoming artists from northern California, Brodi White and V.I. Musik. Game’s intro leads directly into the infamous “CBS GAAAANG!” ad-lib that has become something of a hallmark for V.I. Musik during the last decade of his music career. It was at this moment that I knew without question that this was not about to be another “local rapper” album.

After you stop starting the song over or take it off repeat, you’ll be lead into a steamy and if I’m honest, downright nasty display of lyricism by Brodi White in a solo track that is inauspiciously named “Yo Whatsup”. Now Brodi is not much of a singer, he doesn’t claim to be either, but he did flex the vocal cords a hair on this one. With a slight pitch correction assist, Brodi hit the hook (and harder than Will Smith did Chris Rock at the Oscars. That combined with the rhymes spread across 3 verses and 2:58 seconds of worth of platinum level production by The Kontrabandz is definitely something you’ll want to play for your sneaky link.

I could cover every song on the album here, no doubts! But if I was to tell you how fire every track is individually and keep breaking it down bit by bit, we’d be here all day praising Brodi White and V.I. Musik, which I will be doing anyways as I send links out to my pals. However, I’d really like to go into a bit about the artists and how the project came together.

V.I. Musik outside making it look easy, y'all best cover your plates!

Brodi White Clearly Isn't F****** Around

Brodi White, who financed and played executive producer for the project, also engineered, mixed and mastered a large portion of the project himself. And he did not disappoint by any means, as a matter of fact, I’m pretty impressed. His portion of the recordings and mixes were done at his recording studio in Colorado, but don’t let fool you. The duo delivered 13 pro grade tracks that sound like they just left Atlantic Studios, the quality is pristine, I mean it’s literally what you would expect from a major label. No pops or hisses, background noise is non-existent, and the lyrics sit in the beat, not just laid on top of them. Everything Thorough is no doubt a piece of art. But who engineered, mixed and mastered the other tracks?

V.I. Musik did the mixes and mastering for the rest of the project. The lone exception being “The Culture” which features and was produced by fellow Ukiah natives, Mendo Dope and received its final master at K-Lou Studios in Richmond CA. Needless to say, V.I. Musik is not just an extremely talented vocalist, it’s very clear that he has spent years honing his craft. This, combined with his seemingly effortless abilities on the mic, showcases his viability and potential as a top tier artist. Remember where you heard it first when he collects his first platinum record!

Everything Thorough, Now Available on all major platforms! Play Now!

Start With Track One, No Skips Required

It’s rare I can play an album from start to finish. Few artists have the ability to make handful of hot tracks for a project, much less 13 of them. It seems that most projects these days are loaded with “filler tracks” or have clearly been directed by a major label, Everything Thorough is not that. Brodi White and V.I. Musik put together 40 mins of fire. Not only can you play it front to back, but I highly suggest that you do. Individually every track holds its own weight and has definite play listing appeal, but played through as they intended? It’s next level stuff. Every song leads into the next like day does night, seamlessly and without delay. Rhymes referring to the next track or a track previous seemed to be a common theme, almost like a story was being told song by song.

After listening through a few times, it’s now become clear to me that Everything Thorough is not just the name of the album, but more a definition of how VI Musik and Brodi White move and approach their craft, no holds barred, no bases missed, crossed t’s, dotted i’s and everything else that is thorough in nature.
